01 Whova support

Build a Whova experience around the attendee, not the feature list.

E&M structures Whova event-app and attendee workflows around the event agenda, audience, communications, networking and engagement requirements.

02 The challenge

The platform is rarely the hard part. The configuration around it is.

01

An app only works if attendees actually use it.

Adoption depends on how attendees are invited, how easily they log in and how quickly they see something useful. Without a clear onboarding plan, the app becomes something a few people download and most ignore.

02

The agenda changes, and everyone needs to know.

Speakers swap, rooms move and sessions run late. Agenda updates, notifications and announcements have to be planned and owned, otherwise attendees get too many messages, too few, or conflicting ones.

03

Registration, app and onsite data are often disconnected.

Attendee lists, check-in and engagement activity may sit in different tools. Without agreed fields and sync rules, you end up reconciling lists by hand and missing insight for follow-up.

03 What we handle

What we can take off your team.

  • Registration

Set up registration and attendee data so that the right people, access types and information carry through into the event app.

  • Event app

Configure the app's structure, branding, attendee onboarding and login approach so attendees can get started with minimal friction.

  • Agenda

Build and organise sessions, tracks, speakers and locations, and manage the content collection and update process leading up to and during the event.

  • Networking

Set up attendee profiles, messaging, meetups and community features, and plan the prompts that help people start connecting.

  • Notifications

Plan and schedule announcements, reminders and live updates, with clear ownership of who sends what and when.

  • Engagement

Configure polls, Q&A, activity feeds and gamification to fit your session formats and audience, and support moderation.

  • Onsite support

Provide check-in and badge support, attendee app help desks and live troubleshooting during the event.

  • Reporting

Define the attendance, engagement and adoption metrics your stakeholders need, and set up exports and dashboards to deliver them.

06 FAQ

Questions we hear about Whova.

How do we get attendees to download and use the app?
Answered by E&M

Adoption is mostly a communications and onboarding question. We plan how attendees are invited, make login as simple as your setup allows, and give people a reason to open the app early, such as a personalised agenda or an attendee directory. We also help you track adoption so you can nudge those who haven't joined.

Can we manage registration in Whova, or does it need to sit elsewhere?
Answered by E&M

It depends on your event. Some teams handle registration in Whova, while others use a separate registration system and bring attendee data across. We review your ticketing, payment and data requirements first, then recommend the setup that avoids duplicate records.

How should we handle agenda changes and notifications during the event?
Answered by E&M

Decide who owns updates before the event starts. We set up a notification plan covering what gets sent, when and by whom, so attendees hear about changes without being flooded with messages.

Can Whova support a hybrid event with remote attendees?
Answered by E&M

Whova can play a role in hybrid events, often alongside a dedicated streaming or virtual setup. What matters is deciding what remote attendees access and how it connects to the onsite experience. We help define that and configure the pieces to match.

Can E&M help onsite with check-in and attendee app support?
Answered by E&M

Yes, we support onsite operations including check-in and badge workflows, and can run an app help desk so attendees get help getting started. We rehearse the key workflows before the event.
